As a bird owner, keeping birds healthy is a top priority.
Biosecurity means doing everything a person can to protect their birds from disease. Birds can become sick or die from exposure to just a few unseen bacteria, viruses, or parasites. In a single day, these germs can multiply and infect all the birds. Even if something didn't show up in my flock, it could be passed onto yours without anyone knowing.
However, by practicing backyard bio security, I, as a bird owner can work diligently on keeping my birds (and your new birds) safe from germs by creating and using a bio security plan.
One of the things I do to help ensure the health of my birds is
I do not allow any outsiders in with the birds or bird aviaries and visitors will be required to wear shoe covers ( which we will supply), or I can meet you at our gate with your birds ... NO EXCEPTIONS!!
I understand that people want to see the birds either it be for purchasing or just wanting to come see them, I also understand people like to see how they live, what they look like in person, and even pick out your own birds, etc. I truly understand that. I have posted many pictures of them as well as their pens and aviaries. I have tried to take as many pictures as possible and will send you more if you request on a particular bird. I do not have a problem with that at all!!
I will have a spot for picking up your new birds outside of the gate at our new location as well as our current one.
Thank you so much for your understanding!
